Services Offered
Service Category #1 - Basic Home Services
Basic Home Services
There is a list below that contains many of the services we provide. We focus on small jobs and / or cosmetic services that most contractors don't really want to do; those jobs that probably take 2-3 days at the most. For instance, if you've got a ceiling fan to install, furniture to assemble, porch steps that need replacing, some drywall that needs repairing, or you need a creative solution to a unique problem around the house, it can be really hard to find somebody to take on those jobs. So that's what we do. And we do it with meticulous precision, excellent communication, and we'll stand by our work. (Services are insured.)
Service Category #2 - Lawn Care
Lawn Care
If it needs doing in your yard, we can do it. Mowing, trimming / weed-eating, edging, pruning, cleaning up overgrown areas, etc. We also enjoy beautification projects such as patio paver installations and minor hardscapes. There are companies that specialize in major hardscapes, landscaping, and clean-up projects that require heavy equipment, and that's not us, but it's why we specialize in the things MOST homeowners face most often. And with commercial lawn care equipment, we can maintain almost any size lawn.
Service Category #3 - Total Home Maintenance Plan
The Total Home Maintenance Plan
A home requires a LOT of work. We all know that. And there are a lot of people who either hate it, have no time for it, or simply can't physically do it. Those people need help, and that's why we came up with the Total Home Maintenance Plan, and we fully intend for it to provide a LOT of value to the people who use this service.

An example of such a plan is below, along with a list of possible services, but please note that these plans will ALL be personalized to your needs.

From Teacher to Old House Restorer and Home Services and Lawn Care Provider
(Story Disclaimer: Yes, I know people hate to read. If this story doesn't interest you, just skip it. I don't blame you, honestly. Some people are just long-winded.)
Back in February of 2024, the first paint can was opened for The Finch-Lee House restoration project. My name is Denton Lee, and I'm the guy restoring it. I was born and raised in this house, but I knew it was going to take a long time to completely restore it. I worked full time as a special education teacher, and I knew I'd have to keep that job for a year or two before this house was ever able to become a fully functional business.
But this weird thing happened. After a dozen years in the classroom and a decade before that in banking , I finally found what I loved to do. I knew there was very little around the house I couldn't do, but restoring this house convinced me I was also pretty darn good at it. Better still, I really, really enjoyed it.
Almost immediately, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my career with no particular title whatsoever. I loved everything I was doing. Yard work, drywall, patio pavers, sod, trim work, the list is literally three pages long. Most people who do that kind of work are called handymen, and that title works fine for me. If it can be fixed, beautified, or maintained from the edge of the road to the property line at the back, I love doing it.
Most handymen have areas where they aren't as strong (electrical, for instance,) and I'm no different, but when it comes to cleaning up and beautifying spaces, I am creative, meticulous, versatile, persistent, and extremely hard-working. And I LOVE learning new skills.
But the best thing about a dependable handyman? Contractors rarely want small jobs. That's exactly the kinds of jobs I want to do. And when contractors DO want those small jobs, they charge $125+ per hour or do work "by the job," meaning they're probably making even more than that. I recently read about a guy who did a job where he profited almost $500 per window he installed, and that seems a little exorbitant.
It just shows how hard it is to find people to do good, quality work on your home.
Labor rates for trades across the board have never been higher. One of the major handyman franchises recently ran a coupon for half day rates of $636. That's $159 an hour. And that's a coupon. The guy who recently fixed my truck was somewhere around $200 an hour. I know a guy doing HVAC side gigs for $150 an hour. The guy who did my plumbing work for the Pavilion was well over $200 an hour.
I'm going to take a slightly different approach, but one that a lot of handymen use, especially those who are one-man (or woman) operations. They simply use a quoting method called "Time and Materials," meaning there's an hourly labor charge (almost never less than $75 an hour) plus the cost of the materials you'll need for the job.
Because I'm new to offering these services (but as you'll see below, I have an extensive portfolio just from the Finch-Lee House,) I am going to keep an hourly rate range below market averages for the first year, the range necessary for those jobs that might be physically tougher than others. I will be completely transparent in what I charge and why those numbers make sense for my business. Tools, gas, mowers, batteries, and insurance are pretty expensive, but I'm determined to make this my career, and that means I need to build up a clientele. I'd be honored to have you as a client.
Below is a collection of jobs I have done at The Finch-Lee House or my own. If I can do something similar (or completely different) at your house, please ask. And if you need lawn care, let me quote the job for you.
And now, the jobs / projects I promised....
